PSAT

The PSAT is a 2 hour test given once a year in October.  Most students take the PSAT to prepare for the SAT and to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Students should take the PSAT in the fall of their sophomore year.

Reasons to take the PSAT:

  • Receive feedback on strengths and weakness on the test
  • See how your performance compares with others when applying to college
  • To enter the competition for National Merit Scholarships
  • To become familiar with types of questions and directions you will see on the SAT
  • Receive an online Score Report that allows you to review each test question, your answer, and the correct answer with answer explanations
